Mayor of Letterkenny-Milford Cllr Kevin Bradley has announced plans to honour two high-achieving local citizens with civic receptions.
Former Relay for Life Donegal chairperson Robert O’Connor and Special Olympics athlete Vikki McGill are next in line for the mayoral recognition.
Robert O’Connor recently retired as Chairperson of Relay for Life Donegal after 11 years. Robert is one of the original members of the committee that had the vision to put the first Relay for Life Donegal in action in 2011. In that time, a staggering €1,675,000 has been raised locally for the Irish Cancer Society.
Kilmacrennan woman Vicki McGill has had a phenomenal year in sport. She was part of the gold-medal-winning basketball team at the 2023 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Berlin. Vicki is an inspirational member of the North West Special Olympics club.
Cllr Kevin Bradley received full support for the proposed civic receptions, which he announced at Tuesday’s meeting of the Letterkenny-Milford MD.
A date for the civic receptions will be agreed in due course.
