A stubborn sheep caused quite a commotion for gardaí in Ballyshannon yesterday.
Garda Darren Norman, Garda Ronán Gallagher and Trainee Garda Keith Dunleavy were called to catch a wanderer on the road, but little did they know it would prove ‘woolly’ hard to get home!
Gardaí were assisted by some helpful locals in roping up their suspect.
But it wasn’t so smooth sailing after that, as the sheep had pulled the wool over their eyes and then resisted arrest.
“With ‘shear’ determination it stood its ground and refused to get into the van!,” Gardaí said.
“Luckily the owner arrived before long with transport (that the sheep was agreeable to travel in) and so this ‘baaaaad’ situation took a ‘ewe-turn’ and came to a happy conclusion!”
