A Donegal man has been nominated for the Young Journalist of the Year Award.
Barry Gallagher, who is from Gartan, will compete against other national reporters at the event which will be held in Dublin’s Mansion House tonight.
Journalists and editors from across the country will be awarded for their hard work and reporting across 24 categories.
Barry was nominate for his work with The Irish Sun including articles exposing the dangers of cosmetic surgery abroad.
He is currently working with RTE.
He is up against a number of other young reporters in the category including Conor Capplis from The Irish Times,
Donal MacNamee from the Business Post, Gabija Gataveckaite from the Irish Independent, John Hand from the Irish Daily Mirror and Shauna Bowers from The Irish Times.
