The team behind the Castle Inn Restaurant in Greencastle have announced that they will close, after five years in business.
The shorefont restaurant, which was managed by Liam Havlin and Colm Kelly, will cease trading on the 26th of November.
Liam and Colm said they decided not to renew their lease due to personal reasons.
“With both of us working full time else where and back studying for a masters we want to move our life in a different direction and unfortunately the Castle Inn is not part of the plan,” they said in a notice to customers.
The Castle Inn Restaurant has been a popular spot for seafood specials, steak, cocktails and entertainment nights.
“We have thoroughly enjoyed our 5 years in Greencastle Village and it has been a rollercoaster of a ride,” Liam and Colm wrote.
“However we are immensely proud of what we have achieved. We have brought various types of entertainment to Greencastle and they proved to be a huge hit. We have made many friends for life and we have made a second family with our team members.
“I have to personally shout out how grateful we are to our staff. We have been very lucky to have a team that has such a fantastic work ethic. You all should be immensely proud of yourselves.”
They have invited anyone who may be interested in leasing the Castle Inn to please contact Castle Inn Apartments. There will be the option to lease it turn key should that be of interest to any future tenants.
“We’d also like to thank Maureen, Ally and family for giving us the opportunity in the first case to rent the restaurant,” Liam and Colm added.
“And finally we’d like to thank our family and friends for their support but most importantly yourselves the public for walking through our doors, sharing a post and supporting us since November 2018.”
Anyone who may have a gift voucher is asked to get it used before 26th November.
