The Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind Donegal branch is hosting an information day to find guide dog puppy raisers and temporary boarders in the county.

All are welcome to the event on Saturday, 2 December 2023 from 11:00-13:00 at Fahan Presbyterian Church Hall, Inishowen, F93 XY65.

The event aims to raise awareness about the vital role of Puppy Raisers and Temporary Boarders in the early stages of training their puppies to become life-changing Guide Dogs and Assistance Dogs.

Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with local Puppy Raisers and Temporary Boarders to learn more about their experiences and the benefits of getting involved. One of the primary benefits is the challenge and reward of seeing a puppy develop in your own home.

Additionally, Puppy Raisers and Temporary Boarders get satisfaction from knowing that they have played a pivotal role in providing Guide and Assistance Dogs that enable people with a vision impairment or families of a child with autism to enjoy the same freedom and independence as everyone else.

Furthermore, participants will have the opportunity to learn new dog training skills from Puppy Raising Supervisors and make new friends by joining a community of like-minded individuals.

If you are interested in attending the event or would like further information, please contact Pups@GuideDogs.ie. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn more about this life-changing organisation and how you can get involved!
