A fundraising campaign to buy a delivery driver a pint after he came to the aid of victims of yesterday’s knife attack has raised a staggering €113,000 in just a few hours.

Deliveroo driver Caio Benicio was on his motorbike when he saw a man with a knife attacking a young girl on Parnell Square East.

Brave Caio got off his bike, took off his helmet, and hit the attacker with it.

Dubliner Paul Darcy was so impressed with Caio’s courage that he started a Go Fund Me page called ‘Buy Caio Benicio a pint.’

Brian wrote “The man’s a hero and the least we can do is buy him a pint so I’m asking you to donate the price of a pint of Guinness in your local to Caio so that he knows the people of Dublin appreciate him.”

Now the people of Ireland have responded in staggering numbers to reward Caoi’s after he helped saved the child’s life.

If you want to buy Caio a pint and show the world that Ireland is not about rioting, burning Garda cars or attacking the emergency services doing their jobs then click onto https://www.gofundme.com/f/buy-caio-benicio-a-pint
