The Cúnamh Finn Valley non-profit has been accepted into the Charity Retail Ireland (CRI) group.
CRI is the all island representative body for charities who have a significant financial, social and environmental impact.
It is asking members of the public to ‘shop second hand first’ this Christmas at one of its 44 members’ charity shops, including Cúnamh in Stranorlar.
“Step into the world of charity shops, where treasures await you at every turn,” a CRI spokesperson said.
“Find unique and thoughtful gifts, stylish clothing, captivating books and more and also reduce your carbon footprint.”
It is also asking people to donate quality unwanted items for a ‘new journey’.
Cúnamh was founded in 1982 to raise funds for local emergencies and for families who find themselves in extreme difficulties. The name Cúnamh translates to mean ‘aid, help or assistance’ and is funded mainly by its charity shop in Stranorlar.
