Gardaí are investigating a hit-and-run collision that occurred near Newtowncunningham last week.

The incident happened in the townland of Tonyhabboc Wednesday the 22 nd

of November at approx. 5.20pm. A driver had travelled along the R237 from the Derry direction and came to a stop upon reaching the junction with the N13. A

car, described as being blue in colour and possibly a VW, collided with the rear of their

car. The driver of the blue VW did not remain at the scene but turned right onto the N13 and travelled onwards in the direction of Burt/Bridgend.

“We appeal to anybody who may have travelled on the N13 between Bridgend and Newtowncunningham on that date between 5.15pm and 5.30pm and who had a dash cam to make the footage available to Gardaí in Letterkenny,” Garda Grainne Gallagher said.

Anyone with information should contact Letterkenny Garda Station on 0749167100 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666111.
