One of Donegal’s leading hotels has rubbished rumours that it is to close.

Management at the Highlands Hotel in Glenties were forced to issue a statement after what they said was recent rumours about the hotel’s closure.

A spokesperson for the hotel said “We would like to address recent rumours circulating about The Highlands Hotel closing its doors in the New Year.

“We want to assure our guests, upcoming bookings & community that these rumours are entirely false.”

The statement said that staff and management felt it was important to put a message out in public and to set the record straight.

It added “There are no plans whatsoever for the closure of The Highlands Hotel. We remain fully operational with the same dedication to providing exceptional hospitality that you have come to expect from us.

“We understand the importance of clear communication, and we appreciate your ongoing support. If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to reach out to us directly.

“Thank you for being a valued customer of The Highlands Hotel. Sincerely, Management & Staff at The Highlands Hotel.”
