Gardaí are appealing for information in relation to a sinister tyre slashing incident that occurred in Newtowncunningham last week.

It happened outside a home in the townland of Monfad in the early hours of Tuesday November 21 between 3am and 3.05am. A resident in that area was in bed when they heard their dogs

barking. They then heard footsteps outside and then a bang. Upon further investigation, they discovered that one of the front tyres of their van had been slashed. Nothing was

stolen from the property.

“We appeal to anybody who may have travelled in that area in the early hours of last Tuesday morning around that time to make contact with Gardaí if they observed any suspicious activity,” Garda Grainne Doherty said.

If anybody, such as taxi drivers, were in the area and had a dash cam they should make contact Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100  or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666111.
