Why Brendan was always ‘cut-out’ for a career in Tobins!

Nobody could accuse Brendan Logue of being stiff.

But the two cardboard cut-outs outside Tobins in Letterkenny this morning certainly do him justice.

Staff at the popular filling station on the Port Road wanted to celebrate Brendan’s anniversary.

Nope, Letterkenny’s chattiest service station attendant isn’t quite 50 yet.

But today does mark 20 years since he first started pumping petrol and looking after customers at Tobins on December 1st, 2003.

Being so friendly isn’t a tall order for the Glenoughty Close man as he’s blessed with the gift of the gab.

Just don’t get him chatting about jeeps or you could still be there long after the staff have wiped down the ice-cream machine and turned off the lights.

Along with colleague William Gallagher who also celebrated 20 years at the business recently, he does test owner Eddie’s patience.

In fact, it’s no coincidence that Eddie began turning grey in December 2003!

Eddie says it’s lucky that Brendan is paid by the hour and not by the word or Brendan would have bought Tobins and the rest of the Circle K franchise years ago.

If you happen to be near Tobins today, call in and wish Brendan all the best.

Just make sure you have the Christmas shopping done beforehand because a month isn’t a long time for a chat in Brendan’s world!
