Businessman Tim Kelly has been awarded with the Freedom of Donegal, following a special ceremony yesterday.

Originally from Frosses, Tim emigrated from Donegal to London at the age of 18.

Working originally in hotels and in construction, he set up his own business along with his brothers in 1985 – Kelly Communications, which would become a massive success installing cable as the communications revolution came about.

He was given the Freedom of Donegal at a special ceremony at the Council House in Lifford yesterday.
