Red Hughs have confirmed Benny McDevitt as their new senior team manager.

The Tyrone man (main pic), who played and coached Australian Rules football Down Under, was ratified last night at the club’s AGM.

He takes over from Eugene Browne who stepped down in October, due to work commitments, after one season in charge.

McDevitt (38) has a varied sporting background in GAA, Aussie Rules, rugby, boxing and kickboxing.

He is a sports science higher education/university lecturer, is qualified in sports psychology and has worked with Tyrone GAA as a Strength and Conditioning coach at underage level.

Last year, he managed Dungannon outfit Derrytresk.

Red Hughs secured Division 2 status this year and reached the knockout stages of the Intermediate Championship when they went down to the eventual winners, Downings, at the quarter final stage.
