Killybegs house fire may have been deliberate

Gardaí are investigating a fire which destroyed a house in Killybegs last weekend.

A vacant house on the Donegal road was gutted in a fire which occurred on Friday the 1st of December shortly after 10pm.

Fire services attended the scene to extinguish the flames but the house was destroyed. Nobody was injured.

The possibility that the fire may have been started deliberately has not been ruled out, according to spokesperson Garda Sergeant Charlene Anderson.

In a community appeal, Sgt Anderson has asked anyone who was on the Donegal road, near the graveyard, between 8pm and 10pm to report any suspicious activity or share any dashcam footage they may have with Gardaí in Ballyshannon: +353719858530
