TCS staff spread Christmas cheer to Donegal families in need

Staff from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Letterkenny have volunteered as Secret Santa for this year’s Donegal Lifestart Services Christmas Toy Appeal, donating enough toys to support more than 30 children this festive season.

The initiative invites people to volunteer to be paired with a child in the community. Volunteers are then given some anonymous information including their age, gender, some interests, and a recommended spending limit to help them choose the ideal gift.

The heartwarming project aims to bring a little bit of holiday magic to children whose parents/guardians may be in financial hardship.

Mary Walker Callaghan, Regional Manager, Lifestart Services said, “The level of need and disadvantage in Donegal is extremely high and increasing year on year. This time last year we had a list of 100 children for toys.  This year it has increased to 334 children. The Donegal Christmas Toy Appeal and the amazing contribution from the staff at TCS will bring so much joy and comfort to so many children and their families throughout Donegal – children who otherwise may not for a number of reasons experience the joy, wonder and magic of Christmas.

“I would like to sincerely thank all those in TCS who took the time to do something so special and donate to this very worthy cause”.
