POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER – OPENING ON 17th DECEMBER

The festive season is upon us and Letterkenny-based Tom Giblin is once again getting ready to share his live nativity and Christmas wonderland with the public for charity.

Tom, who is known for his love of miniature farm animals, launched his live nativity in 2022, raising over €2,000. This year, he is back with even more furry friends and fantastic lights for families to enjoy.

This event is organised to raise funds for 16 different charities.

The Nativity and Christmas light display will be turned on from 4:15 PM on Sunday, December 10th, until January 6th. Following Sunday’s official opening, it will be open daily from 9:30 AM to 10:30 PM, with the light switch on at 4:45 PM.

The live animal Nativity Stable boasts mini pigs, a mini donkey and foal, a mini pony, a selection of mini goats, a few hens, and a rooster. Two bee colonies live nearby, while the full-sized Nativity figures are garmented.

In addition to the live animal Nativity Stable, visitors can enjoy the Christmas Lights themed garden, which portrays many themes such as the Nativity scene, Santa scene, snow scene, Arctic scene, and teddy bears scene. Santa’s Sleigh is all ready for the off, and Santa’s postbox stands proudly, ready to receive wishes and letters from children.

Tom has created a cozy haven for his furry friends and is excited to share it with everyone.

Speaking about the event, he said: “Fundraising can bring people together in a fun filled sociable way – hence the reason for so many charities.

“Charities depend on voluntary donations and could not fund their way without the time and generosity of volunteers – So why not me?

“Fundraising for different causes is a great way to create awareness – I know of friends of mine who are individually getting a little source of comfort from all of my chosen charities.

“Helping others making a difference and raising funds for good causes gives me a real boost and sense of fulfillment – what a real feel good inner feeling.”
