Almost €400,000 has been approved for a range of public initiatives in the Donegal Gaeltacht.
In the Gaoth Dobhair, Rann na Feirste, Anagaire and Loch an Iúir LPA, a grant of up to €47,320 has been rubber stamped for Coiste Forbartha Chnoc Fola. This money will be used to undertake renovation works on the community centre. In addition, up to €262,828 has been approved for Choiste Bainistíochta Scoil Bhríde for the construction of a premises to be used as a naíonra.
In the Gaeltacht Láir LPA, a grant of up to €10,941 has been approved for Coiste Forbartha Éadan Fhionn Fhraoich to carry out renovation works on the community hall, and up to €81,328 has been approved for Cúram Leanaí an Chlocháin to appoint consultants to prepare plans for the development of a childcare centre and naíonra.
The announcement was made this afternoon by the Minister of State with responsibility for the Office of Public Works and the Gaeltacht, Patrick O’Donovan.
Donegal government minister, Charlie McConalogue, said: “This is a vital source of funding for four important projects in the Donegal Gaeltacht. These grant allocations will cover the cost of renovation works, the construction of new facilities and professional fees, and will assist the development of new facilities for the wider public and additional early years services.”
