A ceremony will take place tomorrow to mark the anniversary of the passing of Private Sean Rooney.

He was killed while on a peacekeeping mission in Lebanon on December 14th 2022.

The wreath-laying ceremony for Sean will take place in Newtowncunningham tomorrow, Sunday at 3pm.

The Irish United Nations Veterans Association is organising the event, with its members being asked to gather in the carpark of the Church of All Saints at 2:30pm prior to the ceremony.

Five men, believed to be members of the militant group Hezbollah, have been charged with his murder.
