A new colourful and collaborative mural was unveiled at Greencastle Community Centre this week.
The artwork was created as part of the Change X and Inishowen Development Partnership funded ‘Identity Initiative’. It celebrates ‘the many cultures and nationalities that call our community home’.
Young people from Moville Community College have been working with Derry street artist Karl Porter from UV Arts to create a collaborative piece of art that brings together their collective representation of ‘identity’ and ‘home’.
Featuring symbolism and language from Ukraine, Spain and Ireland the eye-catching mural is a wonderful representation of our diverse community. Speaking at the launch of the mural on Monday, Greencastle Centre manager Susan McAleer said: “It’s been great seeing the mural come together and we are delighted to provide a platform for creative expression within our community”.
