Tree-mendous new addition to Donegal Town forest

The woodland at Rossylongan near Donegal Town has gained an enchanting new addition.

A stunning bench, with woodland critters carved within, has been generously funded by the Donegal Town Credit Union.

The bench was meticulously carved by Gintas Poderys, who is renowned for his sculptures across the local landscape.

Rossylongan, which lies in the old MacManus Estate, has become popular again as walkers rediscovered the trails during lockdown. The Friends of Rossylongan Forest committee was formed to protect and develop the trails as a tourist attraction.

The Friends of Rossylongan Forest (FORF) and Coillte would like to thank Donegal Town Credit Union for funding the new bench, which will be a welcome rest stop for walkers in the years to come.

With thanks to Paul O’Sullivan for the photo.
