Efforts to address social housing needs in Donegal have taken another step forward as Donegal County Council and Glebe Builders Ltd. officially turned the sod on a new development in Bundoran.

The Gort na Gréine site in Drumacrin will feature 20 apartments and 22 houses.

Donegal County Council has awarded the contract for the construction of the 42 new to local company Glebe Builders, who are expected to complete the job within 20 months.

The recent groundbreaking ceremony gathered local councillors, including Donegal Municipal District Councillors and Cathaoirleach Martin Harley, alongside Glebe Builders representatives.

Apart from the 42 social housing units, the development will also include associated site development works, incorporating a foul drain pumping station with rising main, a stormwater attenuation system, and a controlled pedestrian crossing point. These additions will enhance the infrastructure and accessibility of the surrounding area.
