The last edition of this year’s community notes for Dunkineely, Bruckless and Killaghtee is out.

Dunkineely Lights

Last Thursday we finally got to formally switch on the Dunkineely Christmas Lights.

In an event that saw Santa give out presents to all the kids, Banjo rocked the house and the lights turned on (eventually), with the help of Mayor Margaret Duddy.

Everyone seemed to have a great evening and didn’t let a little rain spoil the fun.

Check out the Santa rap, live footage and more, on our Facebook page:

https://www.facebook.com/DunkineelyCL

A final thankyou to everyone who helped Dunkineely Community Ltd (DCL) with the lights, including Damien McIntyre, Donegal Co Co (supported by Noel Jordan and Niamh Kennedy), Niamh Kennedy, KT Nets, Patrick Breslin, C Fish (Charlie Vial), Patricia McGuire, Eunan Harvey (ESB), Mark Nesbitt, Janet Deane, Christian Dupuy, Gordon Deane and Roland Cassidy.

The work of putting up the lights is particularly difficult, so I hope everyone agrees their efforts produced fantastic results. Lastly, thanks to all the houses that allowed us to attach lights and trees! We hope now to build on the lights every year, thanks to our new street ESB connection.

Christmas Draw

Dunkineely Community Ltd (DCL) will once again be running a Christmas Draw, in aid of Dunkineely Christmas lights.

This will run over the new year, with tickets available from board members and in the local store. The draw will be in the new year.

Watch https://www.facebook.com/DunkineelyCL for more information.
