A young Ramelton man who tragically lost his life in a two car collision on Monday will be laid to rest on Friday.
Popular Paul Mooney, 31, was a hugely gifted musician.
The singer and guitarist was a passenger in was involved in a two-car collision on the main Letterkenny to Lifford Road.
He is the son of well-known son of local couple Gwen and Morgan Mooney was aged in his 30s and has two sisters.
He was a member of the popular band Boy M5 and was known for his gigs as a solo artist in bars under the name Mooney.
Paul, who is the tenth person to be killed on the roads of Donegal this year, is reposing at his home with a wake today and tomorrow from 11am until 10pm.
Those attending the wake between the hours of 6pm and 9pm should park at St Mary’s Church, Ramelton and a bus will be provided from there.
The beloved son, brother and friend will be laid to rest after a mass at 11am in St Mary’s Church, Ramelton.

A notice on RIP.ie reads: “Mooney, Paul, Jupama, Glen Lower, Ramelton, Co. Donegal, F92 F821, December 18th, 2023, suddenly as a result of a road traffic accident.
“Deeply regretted by his loving parents Morgan and Gwen, partner Nicolle, sisters Maeve and Julianne and their partners Seamus and David, nana Frances, uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family and friends.”
Heartbreaking tributes have poured in for “gentleman” Paul, who has been remembered fondly for his kind demeanour and musical talent.
The drivers of the two other cars involved in the tragic crash were also taken to hospital for treatment but their injuries are not understood to be life-threatening.
Gardai in Letterkenny Garda Station are appealing to anyone who may have information in relation to this collision to contact them.
