Sad passing of former Inishowen solicitor, Moya Jane O’Doherty

The death has taken place at Buncrana Community Hospital of former Inishowen solicitor, Moya Jane O’Doherty.

Late of 12 Pillar Pk, Buncrana, she was a keen golfer and long time member and past Lady Captain of Buncrana Golf club.

A spokesperson for the club said it is ‘very sad’ to learn of the passing of Ms O’Doherty.

“Moya had two spells as Lady Captain over the years, 2011 and again in 2019. Moya was a great character and will be sadly missed by all at the club,” they said.

“We would like to offer our sincerest condolences to all Moya’s family & friends at this sad time. May she rest in eternal peace.”

Daughter of the late Una and Ronnie H C O’Doherty, Cahir O’Doherty Ave, Buncrana, she was a dear sister of Gearoid, Ronan, Rodrick and Sheena. Sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, family circle and friends.

Remains reposing at McLaughlin’s funeral home from 1pm until 4pm on Thursday 21st December. Removal from there to St Mary’s Oratory to repose overnight, funeral there on Friday at 10 o’clock with burial afterwards in Cockhill cemetery.
