Heartbroken Andrew McGinley has shared his late children’s last letters to Santa.
The three McGinley children, Conor, 9, Darragh, 7, and Carla, 3, were all killed by their mother Deirdre Morley almost three years ago in a tragedy that shocked the nation.
Ms Morley was found not guilty of their murder by reason of insanity following a trial at the Central Criminal Court in May 2021.
Their dad Andrew, who is originally from Donegal Town shared images of his three kids’ last letters to Santa Claus on social media.
Conor, the eldest, told Santa that he had been very good that year, having minded his little sister and helped out around the house.
He asked for a Nintendo Switch games console, headphones, and two games: Pokemon Sword and Bendy and the Ink Machine; along with a Bendy and the Ink Machine teddy and Lego.
Darragh also told Santa that he had been very good, as he had been “playing with my sister nicely” and “helping around the house a bit”.
A Desert Racer was at the top of the seven-year-old’s Christmas list, followed by a tin of Premier Adrenalyn football cards, and a Lego Star Wars Imperial Fighter.
Like his older brother, Darragh was also hoping for a Bendy teddy, as well as a Premier Adrenalyn book, and a tin of Champions Match Attax collectible football cards.
Little Carla, 3, had a Paw Patrol teddy of Sky at the top of her wishlist for Christmas, followed by another Paw Patrol toy – Rubble’s truck. She also wanted a pink Stikbots action figure.
Pictures of the three letters were shared by Mr McGinley today with the caption “Conor, Darragh and Carla’s last letters to Santa.”
Earlier this year, he said he knew “every detail” of how his children died, but he didn’t know why, and was still seeking answers.
“It’s heart-breaking. I’m hoping that this HSE report is a chance to make real change.”
