Today is expected to be Dublin Airport’s busiest day over the Christmas period with more than 100,000 passengers expected to pass through the various terminals.
A staggering 1.5 million people are expected to travel through the airport between December 18th and January 6th over the holiday season.
Donegal and Derry Airports are also expected to be busy with passengers taking connecting and direct flights into the regions.
Flight operations at Dublin Airport will stop on Christmas Eve after the last flight at 11pm.
This is to ensure that air traffic control space is fully clear for the arrival of Santa from the North Pole.
Flights will resume on St Stephen’s Day at 5.55am.
