Irish television viewers were literally on fire this Christmas.
A film showing a burning log fire proved to be one of the most popular programmes with Irish television viewers on Netflix this festive season.
The one hour programme yesterday made number six in the Top 10 TV Programmes on the popular on-demand streaming channel.
The programme, entitled ‘Fireplace For Your Home’, starts off with a log fire beginning to light before becoming a full fire with cackling sound effects.
The programme, which was made in 2015, lasts for an hour before burning out.
A trailer for the programme reads “For the first time in 4K Ultra HD, everyone’s favourite Yuletide fireplace snaps and crackles in crystal clear high-def holiday warmth.”
The popularity of the show meant that tens of thousands of homes across the country were watching the show or using it as a backdrop on widescreens TV screens over the Christmas holidays.
The budget show proved more popular than many other shows including ‘Bad Surgeon’, World War II From the frontline” and The Manny.’
