Fund launched to help Donegal nurse diagnosed with brain tumours

A fund has been launched to help a young Donegal nurse who has been diagnosed with two brain tumours.

Jordan Byrne from Killybegs moved to Saudi Arabia in November to further his nursing career.

But the family of the popular 25-year-old have been left shocked after he was diagnosed with the two tumours.

Life was on the up for Jordan but took a tragic turn at the beginning of December.

He was admitted to hospital for Meningitis treatment on the 6th December and after an MRI, a CT scan and further tests they discovered the tumours.

Now his aunt Angela McCarthy has launched a Go Fund Me page in an effort to raise funds for medical costs and to help Jordan’s parents to visit him abroad.

After just a few hours the fund has now passed €17,000.

Angela said “Jordan is a male nurse who has given so much to so many in his nursing career. He worked in the hospital during the multiple waves of the pandemic.

“Jordan is going to undergo radiation treatment in Saudi Arabia and his parents Fiona and Aidan Byrne are travelling over to Saudi Arabia to be with him for his treatments.

“This page will help cover any medical costs and travel related expenses for Jordan and his family.

“Any help you can give, no matter how little would mean the world to them.”

Thank you all for your prayers, love and concern to date.
