A fund launched to help a young Donegal nurse who has been diagnosed with two brain tumours has already passed €40,000.
Jordan Byrne from Killybegs moved to Saudi Arabia in November to further his nursing career.
But he was only there days when life took a turn for the worse for the popular 25-year-old.
He was admitted to hospital for Meningitis treatment on the 6th December and after an MRI, a CT scan and further tests they discovered the tumours.
Now his aunt Angela McCarthy launched a Go Fund Me page in an effort to raise funds for medical costs and to help Jordan’s parents to visit him abroad.
Angela said “Jordan is a male nurse who has given so much to so many in his nursing career. He worked in the hospital during the multiple waves of the pandemic.
“Jordan is going to undergo radiation treatment in Saudi Arabia and his parents Fiona and Aidan Byrne are travelling over to Saudi Arabia to be with him for his treatments.
“This page will help cover any medical costs and travel related expenses for Jordan and his family.
“Any help you can give, no matter how little would mean the world to them.”
“Thank you all for your prayers, love and concern to date.
The public have responded generously to the appeal and it has now passed €40,000 after an initial goal of €15,000.
