Donegal’s SML Construction Consultants are a young dynamic consultancy who work on both the Client and Contractor side. Projects range from housing construction, commercial building projects, healthcare project, civil engineering projects and fund monitoring on both the Client and Contractor side.
WE ARE HIRING – Intermediate Quantity Surveyor
Working under the supervision of the Managing Director, the range of duties will include:
- Prepare tender documents.
- Prepare accurate Bills of Quantities from drawings, specifications and schedule of finishes
- Prepare an analytical estimate from first principles
- Procurement of nominated subcontractor packages at tender stage
- Value engineering exercises
- Pre & Post-contract cost control
- Agreeing monthly payment valuations and final accounts
- Development of cost plans and estimates
Requirements:
- Degree Qualification
- Minimum 3 years’ post qualification experience within a cost consultancy environment
- Proficient with BoQ’s and tendering
- Ability to work on your own initiative and within a team environment
- Fully competent in the use of Cubit/ Buildsoft/ Excel/ Word/ Microsoft Project
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication

WE ARE HIRING – Junior Project Manager
The successful applicant will assist in managing and monitoring both the construction programme and cost plan with a view to minimising the impact on same of any variations to the project.
- Keeping the project stakeholders informed of progress, cost and any other relevant issues.
- Oversee the tender and contractor / consultant appointment process
- Chair and minute project review meetings.
- Ensure smooth and timely flow of information between all parties to the contract.
- Endeavour to identify and predict potential bottlenecks and delays and action remedies.
- Agree valuations and final accounts for contractors and consultants.
- Monitor build and material quality.
- Ensure contractor and consultancy contractual compliance.
- Assist in the front-end design planning and procurement of other projects.
Requirements:
- Degree Qualification
- Minimum 2 years’ post qualification, preferably within a consultancy or developer environment.
- Have a knowledge of current construction contracts and procurement methodologies
- Have a proven track record of seeing projects through to their successful completion
- Fully competent in the use of Microsoft Project
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication
- Commitment and motivation to join a young exciting company
