The family of a 5-year-old girl who was one of the victims of a viscious stabbing in the city in November says that she now must “relearn everything” as a result of the attack.

The GoFundMe campaign to raise money for her family has reached over €62,000 – with another fundraiser for the children and adult carer who were attacked reaching over €267,000.

In an update, the family of the 5-year-old said that she has now entered the third phase of her recovey, with her medical team saying they are “very happy with her improvement”.

However there is still a long road to recovery for the youngster, with this third phase being “…the longest as she will relearn everything as a result of her injury.”

Her family concluded the update by saying “once again, she is so strong and we are proud to be by her side supporting her, guiding her, and, above all, loving her every step of the way.”
