New crossings to be activated on Letterkenny’s Four Lane

Traffic lights on the Four Lane road in Letterkenny will be switched on from tomorrow, Tuesday 9th January.

The signalised crossings are part of the final residual works on the N56 project.

These crossings are expected to enhance pedestrian safety and aid traffic flow along the busy thoroughfare, which sees approximately 32,000 vehicles travelling on it per day.

The installation of these crossings is a key component of the overall upgrade to the N56 Four-Lane road, which commenced in 2021. The safety project has also included the construction of new footpaths, cycle lanes, and traffic signal infrastructure.
