If you haven’t put up your 2024 calendar yet, consider getting a special one featuring stunning snaps of Doochary.

Locals have come together to create a charity calendar celebrating the beautiful Rosses village.

The images are all winning entries of a photography competition led by Cumann Forbartha – Na Dúchoraidh, Doochary-Tidy Towns.

Funds from the sales of the calendar and post card series go back into small projects within the village.

Doochary’s village theme of 2024 is Accessibility/Acceptance– which means the community will be focusing on making the village more accessible to all regardless of abilities, gender or culture- with a focus on health and well-being and cultural acceptance,  expression and protecting local wildlife and the environment. As a Gaeltacht area, they will be working to first and foremost promote the Irish language, culture and heritage.

Cumann Forbartha – Na Dúchoraidh, Doochary-Tidy Towns First place winner is Nicola McGovern of the Village Garda House- which features a lovely picture of the village in bloom. Second place goes to villager Nataliia Zhukova with her wonderful and atmospheric photography and third place goes to the outstanding beauty of the photography of Brian McDonald.

The Doochary 2024 Calendars are on sale now in :
The Village Shop.
The Corkscrew bar.
Clerkins filling station.
They make an ideal gift for friends and family overseas. Price €8 each
