Gardaí are appealing for information following the theft of a substantial amount of cash and jewellery from Letterkenny house last week.

The burglary occurred at a home in the area of Creeve, Rochkill, sometime between 3pm on Wednesday January 3 12:10am on Thursday. The front door of the property was forced open, entry was gained and a number of rooms were ransacked. A safe was forced open and the contents were stolen.

Among the items taken were a substantial sum of cash and various items of jewellery. Some of the stolen items included a white gold diamond and sapphire engagement ring, a yellow gold and diamond wedding ring, diamond sapphire earrings, diamond drop earrings, circular diamond earrings with a red stone in centre and a men’s jade bracelet with brown stones.

“We appeal to jewellers and shop owners to make contact with Gardaí if anybody should come to their store to have a similar type of jewellery valued or sold on,” Sergeant Eunan Walsh said.

Should anybody have relevant information in relation to the incident, they are urged to contact Gardaí in Letterkenny on 0749167100. The Garda Confidential line may be contacted on 1800 666 111.
