The Ulster GAA has overturned a decision to ban Donegal manager Jim McGuinness for eight weeks.
McGuinness was hit with the ban for fielding an ineligible player in a McKenna Cup game against Armagh at Mac Cumhaill Park.
Finbar Roarty, a member of McGuinness’ club Naomh Chonaill, featured in Donegal’s first competitive game of the manager’s second coming despite being only 17.
But now the Ulster GAA has rowed back on the ban after an appeal by Donegal.
A statement just issued by the Donegal County Board said “Following a request by Jim McGuinness to the Ulster Hearings committee, the County secretary has been informed that the alleged infraction was not proven, and that no further disciplinary action is to be taken.
“We can now look forward to our Mc Kenna cup semi Final against Monaghan on Sunday.”
