Two men have been arrested following incidents of criminal damage and the hijacking of a car at Bridgend on Sunday night.

The two men (aged in their 20s) are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda station in Dublin.

It follows an incident outside a local business on the Donegal/Derry border at around 8.30pm on Sunday.

A number of vehicles were damaged at the carpark of the hotel and a car was hijacked at another nearby location during the incident.

Gardai say the stolen vehicle has also been recovered.
