Gardaí are searching for information on a BMW which was involved in a suspected hit and run on Saturday last.

The collision occurred on the Derry Road in St. Johnston on Saturday the 13th of January at around 8.45pm.

A blue BMW with a partial registration of ‘RNZ’ was travelling from the Lifford area towards St. Johnston when it struck a car that was travelling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the BMW did not remain at the scene. The driver of the car that had been struck was not injured.

A Garda spokesperson said “We believe that the BMW was driven across the border following the incident.

“We appeal to anybody who may have travelled in the area of St. Johnston or on the road between Lifford and St. Johnston between 8.15pm and 9.15pm and who had a dash cam to make the footage available to Gardaí.

“If anybody witnessed the collision we also ask them to make contact with Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100.”
