Eleven new Garda recruits begin training phase in Donegal Division

A total of 11 trainee Gardai have arrived in the Donegal Division.

The recruits will commence their Phase 1/Stage 2 training in the county and are part of a nationwide recruitment of 234 new members.

The new members arrived at Letterkenny Garda Station yesterday where they were received by local Garda Sergeant Paul Forrestal.

A Donegal Garda spokesperson said “We extend a warm welcome to them and we wish them the very best in their career with An Garda Síochána.”

The latest Garda recruitment competition opened yesterday, January 15th and it will run until 3pm on the 8th of February.

The age limit to apply to become a Garda trainee has increased from 35 years to 50 years from this competition onwards.
