The No Barriers Foundation based in Letterkenny is seeking a full-time Chartered Physiotherapist.

Job Specification: Chartered Physiotherapist 

Contract Type: 1-Year Full-time Fixed-Term Contract

Location: Letterkenny, Co. Donegal

Position Type: 1 year Full-time Fixed Term (potential for extension/permanent contract depending on performance and funding)

Reporting to: Physical Disability Services Coordinator

Job Purpose:

To provide high-quality physiotherapy services to patients, evaluate and implement individualised treatment plans, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes. To treat a range of different clients, the majority of which have a neurological diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Assessment and Treatment:

    – Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine patients’ physical condition, limitations, and functional abilities. 

    – Develop and implement individualised treatment plans based on assessment findings, clinical reasoning, and evidence-based practices.

    – Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment interventions as necessary, and evaluate outcomes to ensure effective rehabilitation.

2. Multidisciplinary Collaboration:

    – Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and develop integrated treatment plans.

    – Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and consultations to discuss patient progress, goals, and discharge planning.

3. Patient Education & Empowerment

    – Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, and self-management strategies.

    – Provide guidance on exercises, techniques, and preventive measures to promote recovery, independence, and overall well-being.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

    – Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical records, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.

    – Prepare timely reports, statistics, or documentation as required by No Barriers Foundation regulatory bodies, or funding agencies.

5. Professional Development:

    – Stay abreast of current research, best practices, and trends in physiotherapy through continuing education, workshops, seminars, and professional networks.

    – Comply with professional standards, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements governing physiotherapy practice.

Qualifications and Skills:

– Current registration and in good standing with the relevant professional regulatory body, CORU registered and preferably ISCP registered

– Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution.

– Minimum of 3 years clinical experience as a Chartered Physiotherapist.

– Post graduate clinical experience in neurological physiotherapy is desirable.

– Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic skills.

– Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient-centered care skills.

– Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

– Proficiency in using physiotherapy equipment, modalities, and therapeutic techniques.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary: 39k and upwards depending on experience and qualifications
