Dunkineely Community office to reopen after four-year break

Dunkineely Community Ltd will be re-opening its doors this week after nearly four years away.

They are asking locals to come in and do some printing, laminating and get help with on-line forms.

“We are here to help, feel free to call into the office for a chat.”

Opening at the front of the Dunkineely Community Centre (F94 DF78) from Wednesday and Thursday from 9am to 2pm.

Printing and photocopying from 20c per sheet.

St Patrick’s Parade

This year’s St Patrick’s Parade in Dunkineely will take place at 3:30pm on 16 th March 2024.

Come along and join our celebrations in the heart of Dunkineely. Plenty of floats and fun for all in the centre of the village.

Our second parade promises to have all the excitement of last year’s. We may be a small village but we promise a big parade!

The fun will go on all weekend, with entertainment in the pubs.

Anyone looking to have a float or sponsor the event can let us know at dunkineelycommunity@gmail.com. Float entry is free!

Active Retirement

The Killaghtee Active Retirement Association meets every second Wednesday at the Dunkineely GAA Centre.

It welcomes visitors wanting to know about the group and its activities, as well as those

individuals wishing to become members.

The next, regular, meeting of the retirement association is scheduled to be held on Wednesday 7 th February, at 2:00pm.

The late Kevin Donaghy

The death has occurred of Kevin Donaghy, Darney, Bruckless, Co.Donegal.

Sadly missed by his loving wife, Wendy, of 61 years, children Natasha (Alex), Tristan (Anne), Marcus (Anne), Meriel (Bill) and grandchildren, extended family, relatives and friends. Rest in Peace.

Body being donated for medical research.

The late Gerard Monaghan

The death has occurred of Gerard (Gerry/Ger) Monaghan who passed away suddenly Sunday morning.

Deeply adored and missed by his parents Joey and Rosaleen (McCabe), sons Sean and Kieran and their mother Margaret, his sisters Kaz and Michelle, Sharon and his many friends, extended family and neighbours.

Funeral Mass was last Thursday at The Church of St Joseph and St Conal, Bruckless followed by burial in Ballintra Cemetery.

Family flowers only, donation if desired to Pieta House c/o any family member or Derek McCabe Funeral Directors.

May his gentle soul rest in peace

Methodist Church: Normal Sunday Services will be held at 10:30am in Ardara and 12 noon in Dunkineely.

Catholic Church: Church of St Joseph and St Conal Newsletter available online at: tiny.cc/PBNL Church of Ireland: The normal Sunday service will be at 10:45am in Killaghtee.
