Work has started on long-awaited new water mains for the Manorcunningham and surrounding areas.

After years of poor water pressure and outages, it is hoped that replacement mains will solve the long-running water issues in the area.

Donegal county councillor Donal Kelly said he was “delighted” by the start of the works.

He said “I’m delighted for the residents of Mannorcunnigham and surrounding areas Raymoghy, Rossbracken, Pluck and other areas that Uisce Eireann have started the works of installing new mains nnfrastructure in these areas.

“Finally after years of suffering with water issues these residents are now going to reap the rewards of a permanent water supply. I’m delighted for the residents in these areas as they throughly deserve this new updated service.

“This is something I pushed hard for along with the residents of Mannorcunnigham and I’m delighted that this project is now underway. These people had so much patience through very tough days but we got there and I’m absolutely delighted for them.”
