The six year old boy who was found dead in a car in Waterford yesterday morning has been named locally.
Matthew Healy died early on Friday morning after an incident took place in the car according to Gardaí.
A woman in her 30s was arrested at the scene in connection with the incident.
She remains in Garda custody, with medical attention being provided to the woman as investigations into the tragic incident continue.
Supports are also being offered to management, staff and pupils at Matthew’s local primary school as they come to grips with his loss.
Gardaí say the results of a post-mortem will determine the course of their investigations.
