Figures from the Department of Housing show that County Donegal has had the most applications for the Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant in the state.
The new Government data shows that Donegal County Council has received 528 applications for the refurbishment grant scheme since it opened last year.
Of those applications, 277 have been approved, with only 20 being rejected.
However the Department of Housing figures show that as of the end of 2023, only one grant had been paid out upon the completion of works in the entirety of County Donegal.
The other counties with the highest number of applications were Cork with 505, Mayo with 373, and County Kerry with 336.
The rate of pace for applications here has also not slowed, as 127 applications for the grant were submitted to Donegal County Council just between the start of October and the end of December, also the highest number in the state in that timeframe.
