Gardaí are appealing for information in relation to the theft of a  42 tonne stone crusher from a yard in east Donegal.

They recently received a report in relation to the theft of a blue Pegson crusher (similar to the one in the main pic) from Fearn, Castlefin, close to the Tyrone border.

The machine had been parked in the rural yard at that location for the past number of months and was last seen there in September.

When the owner went to check on it this week they realised that it had been stolen.

“We are in the process of checking CCTV and narrowing down the timeline during which the theft occurred,” Garda Niall Maguire said today.

“We appeal to anybody in the roads/construction business or to anybody who may have come across this item for sale to make contact with Gardaí. The owner is at a substantial loss as a result of this theft and we are anxious to progress the investigation.”

If anybody can assist with relevant information, they are asked to contact Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100. The Garda Confidential line may also be contacted on 1800 666 111.
