Ballybofey blues sensation Muireann Bradley has won her first music accolade from none other than Ticketmaster.

The 17-year-old has been named as ‘Irish Rising Star for 2024’.

This is Muireann’s first award win since she made her break in the blues scene and subsequently shot to stardom on Jools Holland’s Hootenanny on New Year’s Eve.

The Ticketmaster Awards celebrate the best of live music in 2023 giving the nation the chance to relieve their favourite moments through public vote. Muireann’s fellow contenders were Big Sleep, Leo Miyagee, Really Good Time, The Cope and Saibh Skelly.

2024 is going to be an even bigger year for Abbey VS student Muireann, who has booked headline shows nationwide.

Tickets for her special hometown performance in the Balor Theatre on June 22nd were snapped up in minutes.

Muireann describes her musical style as “folk blues” and said she grew up listening to the genre thanks to her dad.
