Donegal Gardaí have expressed their heartbreak at the passing of Honorary Garda, Caoimhe Kelly.

Brave little Caoimhe passed away yesterday, St Valentine’s Day, at home in Pettigo surrounded by her loving family and her wonderful careers.

“Our hearts are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our Honorary Garda Caoimhe Kelly (HG 98) from Pettigo. Ar dheis Dé go Raibh a hAnam,” a garda spokesperson said.

“Our little colleague, our good friend and our hero forever. Rest in peace Caoimhe.”

She is survived by her heartbroken parents, Kevin and Sharon, her brother Luke, her grandparents Willie and Bernie Kelly, Mary McGoldrick, predeceased by her grandfather Packie and Uncle Sean McGoldrick. Sadly missed by all her aunts, uncles, cousins and her wider family circle.

Reposing at her home today  and tomorrow from 2pm until 7pm both evenings. House private at all other times please.

There will be a shuttle bus in operation from the Termon Centre, Pettigo to the wake house.

Funeral Arrangements to follow.
