A volunteer is currently being sought to lead the Dunkineely Community Garden project.

Are you passionate about gardening? Are you looking to contribute to the local community? Are you willing to donate a couple of hours a week to a good cause?

Then contact us, letting us know why you would be great for the role at dunkineelycommunity@gmail.com

No project or fundraising experience necessary. You will work with us throughout the project, taking a lead on developing plans and overseeing the work. Just bring your passion for gardening and working with the community.

Bug Hotel

Come along to Bruckless Park at 12 noon on 9th March and help us build a bug hotel for the community.

Insects will shortly be coming out of hibernation and looking for new homes. Bug hotels are a great way to help these tiny creatures, who help us and the planet in so many ways.

Be prepared to get your hands dirty as we forage for twigs, leaves, bricks and old plastic. Learn to build your own. Kids must be accompanied by adults. Adult gloves can be provided. Why are bugs so important? Want to find out more about insects and how they help the environment globally and locally? Look out for our talks running on the weekend of 6th April. Sponsored by Changemakers.

St Patrick’s Parade

Once again, we will have a €200 prize for best float, sponsored by JFS Crash Repair.

This year’s St Patrick’s Parade in Dunkineely will take place at 3:30 pm on 16 th March 2024. Anyone looking to have a float in the event can let us know at dunkineelycommunity@gmail.com. Float entry is free! Check out last year’s winning float from Mac’s Bar.
