There are currently just over 7,600 Ukrainian nationals living across Donegal, according to the latest data from the Central Statistics Office (CSO).

Almost half of those, 3,634, have been placed in the south and south west of the county.

A breakdown of the figures by Local Electoral Area (LEA) is as follows: Carndonagh (847); Buncrana (411); Milford (835), Letterkenny (1,375), Lifford-Stranorlar (511), Glenties (1,512) and Donegal (2,122).

Kenmare in County Kerry had the highest number of associated arrivals from Ukraine at 2,846.

Nationally, there have been 104,870 arrivals from Ukraine in Ireland over the last two years.

The data was compiled by analysing the number of Personal Public Service Numbers (PPSNs) given to arrivals from Ukraine between 04 March 2022 and 04 February 2024, under the Temporary Protection Directive.
