It will be a mixed bag for Ulster today on the weather front with a risk of hail, sleet and thunder in some areas tonight.

It will be wet and windy to begin today with outbreaks of rain, gradually clearing eastwards this morning. Brightening up from the west with a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers. Top temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees will occur early on, with cooler air spreading from the northwest this afternoon. Fresh to strong southwest to west winds will ease later.

Tonight will see a mix of clear spells and scattered showers at first. Cloud will thicken from the west with a spell of heavy and possibly thundery rain spreading eastwards. The rain will clear overnight with clear spells and showers following. Some of the showers will turn heavy with hail, and a chance of thunder, with some sleet possible on high ground by dawn. Moderate to fresh and occasionally gusty southwest winds, will decrease mostly light to moderate inland overnight. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 4 degrees, with a touch of frost possible later in sheltered parts.

Tomorrow, it will be cold and bright with sunshine and showers. Some of the showers will be heavy with hail, and a chance of thunder, with some sleet possible about high ground. Noticeably cooler than recently with afternoon highs of 5 to 7 degrees. Breezy too, with moderate to fresh and occasionally gusty southwest to west winds.
