Tata Consultancy Services’ maitree team based in the TCS Global Delivery Centre in Letterkenny was shortlisted for the Outstanding Employee Resource Group Award at the 2024 National Diversity and Inclusion Awards.

The judging panel recognised the TCS employee team’s commitment to fostering a culture of inclusion at TCS and the remarkable impact of their diversity and inclusion initiatives both internally on employee engagement and externally in the wider Donegal community.

Now in its second year, the National Diversity and Inclusion Awards took place earlier this month at The Dublin Royal Convention Centre. From over 150 entries, all of the companies that were shortlisted impressed the judging panel with their outstanding work on Diversity and Inclusion progress.

The TCS Maitree team is a vibrant and diverse group of 10 from various departments, such as Human Resources, Facilities, Marketing & Communications, Data Privacy, and BFSI Service Delivery who meet weekly to collaboratively plan activities aimed at making a meaningful difference within TCS and the broader community.

The team were recognized for the impressive array of initiatives they brought to life in the last twelve months that have left a profound impact on their community;

  • Dander and Donate for Daffodils: An event that brought over 200 staff members together in a walk for charity, raising over €1,600 for the Irish Cancer Society and Irish Alzheimer’s Society.
  • St Vincent De Paul Donation: A month-long donation drive, in collaboration with St Vincent de Paul, that collected essential items and non-perishables, delivering them to the charity.
  • Darkness into Light: The Maitree Champions actively participated in a walk for Pieta House, promoting fundraising and creating a sense of community by organizing breakfast for participants and their families.
  • Rathmullan Beach Cleanup: A commendable effort that involved cleaning one of Donegal’s most-visited beaches collaborating with Donegal County Council for proper disposal.
  • Secret Santa for Local Families: In partnership with Donegal Lifestart Services, TCS supported local families facing hardships during the holiday season, donating enough toys to support more than 30 children.
  • Mary’s Meals Fundraiser and Walking Challenge: A fundraiser and walking challenge that raised an astounding €2,200 to support Mary’s Meals’ mission of feeding children across the world.
  • Letterkenny Pride: Letterkenny’s first ever pride festival took place this August, members of the TCS Maitree team were on the organising committee, while others attended the parade showing support for the LGBTQ+ community.
